Jaipur - The Pinkcity, is the first planned city of India. Jaipur City was established by Sawai Jai Singh in the year 1727 AD. Raja Sawai Jai Singh, was a great lover of astrology, architect & planning. He developed an idea of constructing a modern city, now known as Jaipur. In his endeavor he was aided by his able adviser 'Vidhyadhar'. The original idea was to divide the city in nine squares which were called 'Chokries'. The roads were right angle to each other and squares were uniform in size and shape. The elevation of buildings and shops facing main roads were uniform and only pink color was allowed for coloring exterior portion of buildings, thus making Jaipur popular as 'Pink City'.
The old city is covered with walls and huge 8 entry gates. All have floral paintings and with adjacent markets having the same pink color and architecture resembles the gone Maharajas era time. Most of the buildings here are havelis of Thakurs (Small Rajas). Each one have its distinct story and your tour guide will tell you many stories in your jaunt. And Jaipur is not all about heritage and old architecture only, it has its unique culture, rituals and lifestyle too. "Jaipurites" have their cultural values even today. They do daily cow feeding as the day should start with good karma, go to temple, offer Lamp arti to God, do morning exercise and they are foody. They usually take breakfast on some of their favorite outlets. Then they start their usual day and do different sort of work which was inherited from their ancestors. Our tours are covering visiting the most common markets like vegetable and flower markets, by streets which are named on their food items like Namkeen Walo Ki Gali, Achaar Walon Ki Gali etc.; the traditional mall of having many shops in a single building and here we name it as 'Katla' like Purohit Ji ka Katla.
If you are joining our morning tour you may join morning laughing yoga at Govind Dev Ji temple and aarti with devotees. You will enjoy hearing the folk songs offered to Lord Krishna. You will feel a totally different ambiance there.
